Krilo is an organisation established with the goal of opening the first queer safe house in Serbia.

The idea for the Centre for Temporary Housing and Social Empowerment of LGBT+ Persons “Krilo” was born in 2024, among a group of people who saw how many members of their own community were left without adequate support when facing violence, rejection, or homelessness.

We came together around a simple belief: being queer should never mean losing your safety, your dignity, or the roof over your head. Since then, we have been listening to the community, learning from LGBT+ safe houses in the region and around the world, and shaping a model of support that responds to real needs.

“Krilo” was officially registered as an NGO in Serbia in August of 2025. Today, we are building the foundations needed to provide temporary housing and other related support services.

We are building “Krilo” together with the community and for the community. Support our work, follow our journey, or become part of it.
